Camo Cakes and Slave Labor

A typical Monday. Levi has been working hard at his piano lessons and I am so glad were getting back into it. Now that he is able to read the instructions on his own I can, most of the time, just tell him to go practice and he does it. I'm impressed with how much he's remembered though we took over a 6 month break between baby and Krista going out of the country for 3 months.

Max loves to color, paint and craft. A man after my own heart.
For Levi's piano lessons we have just about 45 minutes between picking up Max and going to lessons so we usually head off to the library. This time we picked up Aladdin which I realized the boys had never scene. They never had much interest in a 'princess movie' but I knew they would love it so we got it. And mom was definitely right, they were all giggles.
I saw this on the wall at Max's pre-school. He's so sweet sometimes.
And often needs a nap.....
Brother time! I love how sweet and kind Levi and Max are with their baby brother. They love to hug and kiss him. And they love it when I do my 'Davis voice' and talk for Davis. They think 'he's' hilarious.

Both boys saved up their money in their piggy banks and we were finally able to go to the store to let them pick out dragons which Levi had been talking about for almost a month. The lady who was checking us out was nice and let us use our coupons 3 times so the boys would get some money back to put back in their banks. They love their dragons.
For dinner one night we had cantaloupe as part of it, which Max loves. So after dinner he was still hungry so snuck off with the bowl to eat the rest of it.
Levi is a summer birthday so we got to celebrate his half birthday with his class. We looked online for a number of different ideas for cupcakes and he was very insistent on doing army ones and this is what we came up with. The cake part was camo colors, add a little frosting and an army guy and we were set. The boys and I went early to pick up Levi so we could bring these for the class. I wish I got a picture, they all loved them.
Right after the half birthday bash we went to a field trip for Max's school. We went to the grocery store where they were shown around to different parts of the store and even got to go in the back and check out their huge fridge. At the end they even got cookies and lollipops.

The we headed over to the food pantry with some food they had collected a few weeks earlier and some more that the grocery store had let them pick out, check out and take to the pantry. It was great going there and both boys loved it. They talked about how some people don't have food to eat and that is why they have places like this and how we can find ways to share with others. And as usual Davis was in the pack and was very well behaved. Love that kid.

I think Max is going through a growth spurt, he keeps falling asleep everywhere. To be honest he needs it sometimes!
Our Friday started off in our bed with the boys doing their very best to reenact scenes from The Little Rascals. Their favorite? When the fishing poles get hooked to each other and "we've got to learn to read".  These boys crack me up.
Brother love.

Then the Carters are moving so we offered to have her kiddos over so we took them for the day and played a lot, had mac and cheese, canned pears and played Mario. Not a bad afternoon.

Saturday for some clean up time I put Max to work. He actually didn't mind this time. Probably because I gave him a spray bottle. Then I got a request to make painted toast.

A last ditch effort at the pacifier. He mostly used it as a chew toy. Oh well. A girl can try.
