Parade Time

A couple weekends ago we decided to have an adventure and headed off to the Rose Festival Parade in downtown Portland.

Levi loved going on the max. Aunt Rose too.

Look, there it is.....
so Max looked.
I am SOOOOO glad I brought a big bag full of treats because we ended up waiting a lot longer than I thought we would for the parade to start.

And here is the proof we did not just eat junk food.
Aunt Rose being silly. Again.
Guess who sucked who into getting him an ice cream??? Hint: I wasn't the sucker this time
Yeah, this is how we Goodrich's clean up after ourselves.
Me and my littlest prince.
What a fun day.

So close!

Sorry for lack of posting. I have a great explanation.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful, talented, smart, hard working girl who attended a fantastic university. Off she went to Bolivia to be a missionary for her church and upon her return, a wonderfully charming man stole her heart and together they went to finish their schooling.

Well, he finished his. She had the cutest little boy just 3 classes short of her degree. Due to some family needs they moved off to the land of perpetual rain (Oregon) where she would spend the next 3 years finishing those 3 classes (and having another little prince).

Now she has just one awful independent study statistics class left. It is the suckiest, hardest (most time consuming) class ever, especially trying to do it and lead a normal mommy life AND working part time from home. So she has decided to put everything on pause and see if she can finish it in less than a month. This means not a lot of time to update the good ole blog...but hopefully she will soon return victorious and much better edu-macated.

Oh, the story was about me if you couldn't tell! Wish me luck!

I have a TON of pictures so be ready for total bombardment when I finish.

P.S. To all those who asked: I'll be getting my degree in Social Work from BYU (with a minor in music). Go Cougs!

P.P.S. Thanks for all the well wishes folks. Since is studying statistics is the LAST thing I want to do with my precious time, it's hard to get motivated about it. So thanks for cheering me on! It makes me smile when I'm trying to figure out correlation coefficients, standard deviations and regression lines =) ESPECIALLY cause I know once I'm doing I'm going to forget most of it the minute I put my pencil down on that final.

P.P.P.S. I've already had 1 midterm and got a 100% (which I didn't think I would get) and my next one is this week. Then all I have is the final and DONE!!!!! I can see the light!

A Trip to the Library

I'm sitting in the library during my super fun staistics 'hell week' (cutting myself off from pretty much everything to try and cover 6 chapters of work in 5 days, in preparation for a midterm) and I couldn't resist writing something. I am notoriously forgetful.

While I was sitting I saw this elderly man come in with several children who were obviously his grand children. He walked around following them as they excitedly picked out books, answering questions when needed. It was so sweet to see.

It reminded me of Grampy and how many times he patiently followed us around as we picked out books, school clothes, even the craft store, and how much interest he had in whatever we were doing, not because he particularly cared about it but because WE did. He made me wish so much that Levi and Max could have got to know him more. They would have had so much fun together.

We sure miss you Grampy.

No Time for Games!

Levi comes up with the craziest sayings. Recently he's been saying "Calm down, calm down, no time for games!" Where he gets it all, no idea. Also we've been playing a lot of Candy Land lately and it's turned in to "no time for Candy Land" instead of just games.
He still doesn't completely understand everything about the game but he does a pretty good job and loves when he gets 'the candy cane man' or 'ice cream lady'. One Levi rule: HE assigns the people. He is always green. I am yellow, Jason is blue and Max is red. Don't even try to switch.
Max likes to eat cards play too (though we normally play while he's napping).

Trapped

Our living room is like a giant play pen. We have a gate at one entrance and Jason has makeshift gate out of our table leaf and some chairs, at the other. It's great because we can put him in for a little bit to play with toys, his brother, us, whatever. But now he is starting to HATE the sound of that gate shutting or going in because he know he's trapped.
INJUSTICIA!!! INJUSTICIA!!!! Don't worry little one, we're taking down the gates sometime this week then your free to roam to your hearts content!

Snuggles

As a baby Levi wasn't much of a cuddler or snuggler (I don't know what the difference is exactly....thought I'd cover my bases). Now, despite being extremely active, he demands a snuggle fairly often, especially after a nap.

While it's not always convenient, I sure do love snuggling with him. I probably only have a couple years of it left, hopefully not though.
Sometimes all you need is a good snuggle.

Uncle Love

I don't know if I've ever mentioned it, but Max is absolutely in love with his uncle Isaac. He freaks out when he sees him coming.

Beautiful

I can't get enough of this face.

Rainbow

Levi got a 'art box' from Grandma for Christmas which has been hidden in a closet until he was a little older when he could really appreciate it. I found it, correction, HE found it and I let him discover the artist within. Here he is posin' away.
He was SOOOO excited to play with his color box!
He mostly made a lot of colored lines, then he declared them rainbows. He used every color,
every pen, every crayon, every pastel, and every colored pencil in the box.
