Time for bed

Sleeping is always at the forefront of a mothers mind when a new baby comes home, well, at least it has been for me. In high school and college, even on my mission, I was known for not sleeping very much, living on very little sleep and still having tons of energy. But then I got married and had kids. Now to function properly I need at least a good 7 hours of sleep, maybe 6. Maybe.

So far I've been pretty lucky as far a sleep goes because Jason works from home in the mornings and we live with my grandmother who helps keep an eye on Levi, so even when I do miss out on night time sleep I can usually get a morning nap or something in. Also Max has so far proven to be a pretty good sleeper, and even once slept over 5 hours straight. Last night in fact, he only woke up once while Levi was up a number of times. Jason had to go in and lay down with him to get him calm. Here is how he was found this morning. Who knows how he ended up in that position.
Life has been busy and I might not get much stuff done besides sleep and feeding people but I have been relatively normal, so far.

Here are some scenes from yesterday (I finally found my camera)

Stickers (a Levi favorite) are spread out all over the living room, but I'm still sane.

Lunch dishes are still on the table (someone didn't like his PBJ today) but my boys got fed.
Levi napped.
Max napped.

And I napped. All at the same time. It's a modern day miracle. I wonder if it will ever happen again.

More of the Same

I am FINALLY able to get on the computer after almost a whole week of being away. For me, that is a record. So I thought I'd do a quick post while I can. Both the boys are sleeping and the house is relatively quiet, for now.

Everything is going pretty well at La Casa De Goodrich, although Levi has been having temper tantrums. I don't know if that is because he's getting new teeth, has a slight cold, it's hot, or because their is another little one invading his territory. It's hard to tell. But he does like 'helping out' with Max. He likes to give him the pacifier, although much of the time he is trying to shove it in Max's face while he's sleeping. But he is good about getting me wipes, diapers, the boppy to feed. It is quite cute. He also is good about kissing and hugging, though is somewhat agressive about it all.

We'll I'm getting a bit tired and Max is up and ready to eat. Can I just say, breastfeeding is PAINFUL! I sort of 'cheated' with Levi last time and used a shield and we only did that for 3 months or so. We'll see how this one goes.

Here are some more pictures from day #2. With all this pain medicine and lack of sleep I seem to have lost my camera and just have the ones my brother took. They'll have to do.

He's such a cutie. And it seems like each day he's looking handsomer and handsomer. Not a very happy baby but I really like this picture because Jason's arm's look great. I love his arms.

Oh, we did a check up today and Max is doing well and gaining weight. He's a really good eater.

Max Daniel Goodrich

We officially now have another member of the family.

Max Daniel Goodrich
Born: May 18, 2009
Time: 12:27 PM
Weight: 8lbs 8oz
Length: 21in

Max was a scheduled c-section because of the complications Kendra had when Levi was born. There were no complications this time. Everything went smoothly and we got to all come home on Thursday. Levi was staying with his grandparents in Vancouver, WA and just got home this morning, Friday. He did come and meet Max at the hospital on Tuesday, but he was more interested in playing with the balloon he had picked out for Max.

I am sure Kendra will eventually feel up to posting a more interesting and detailed post, but I thought I would get this up for some of the people who have been waiting to hear. I also have a few pictures that were taken by Kendra's brother, Issac.

Picture Time

While pregnant with Levi, very few pictures were taken of me 'in all my pregnant glory'. I think I have a total of four pictures. Maybe. So, though I (1) do not like pictures of myself in general and (2) REALLY don't like pictures of myself when I am pregnant, decided I would regret it one day. So I had my brother come over and take some pictures of my belly and the family. Here are the shots I liked well enough to show others. Everyone says I look 'so cute' pregnant. I don't feel cute or share that opinion in any way, shape or form. But I suppose most pregnant women feel that way. Right?

Blowing dandelions. Levi loved it.

My handsome hubby and me. Levi refused to sit with us on the bench. Here's why:

The pool was in sight and apparently it is just as much fun to play in without water than with.

This is the only picture I really liked of me alone and I still don't like it that much. But not regrets. Little Max better be grateful for all this.

Finished!

Since we've moved into my grandma's house several months ago we have spent a LOT of time reorganizing, cleaning, painting.....and all the other fun stuff that goes with a new/used house. We FINALLY have one room completely finished. So here are some pics of the boy's new 'Jungle room'.

This was the last piece of the room (at least for now), the curtains for the closet. I wanted to take the doors off so Levi could get into it and also because it is right up against the door and I kept hitting the closet door with the room door. Jason says I should just learn to shut the closet door. I thought making the curtains would be funner. It was.

Also on the right is Levi and Max's reading area. We bought the lovesac (the big red ball) when we were down in Utah. It was my first experience with E-bay. When you sit in it, you never want to get out, and sometimes you can't!. It is SO comfortable. Because it is so HUGE we almost didn't bring it with us when we moved. But we knew eventually our kids would grow up and love it. It is a favorite spot of many.

This is Levi's toddler bed for now. It is one of those convertible toddler bed/cribs. So when baby is ready to graduate out of our room, baby will move in here and Levi will move into the 'big boy bed' on the other side of the dresser. We'll see how it works. The crib set is has an adorable jungle theme.

I love the ceiling drapy thing. I don't know what they're called. We didn't put it up for a while because we were afraid Levi would rip it down. It's been over a month and thankfully he has shown little interest in it.

Here is another shot of the crib. I had a lot of fun doing the wall hangings over the dresser. Levi loves to point out the different animals out. Also the lamp, you can't tell very well, but it has some leaves on it.

The other wall hanging I did.

I didn't take any pictures of the curtians for some reason so here's the best shot with us sitting on Levi's 'big boy bed' . I love the curtians. My stepmom made them and they are perfect for the room. They have two layers, one made from really lightweight, white fabric and the other a very heavy red fabric matching the love sac. Also we have jungle animals scattered around the room. Levi loves the elephant.

It was a lot of fun doing the room, Levi loves to play in there, and so does everyone else. Thanks to Rhonda who helped to paint and decorate and give out good ideas. I don't think it would have happened otherwise.

Now, we just have to finish all the other rooms.....

The Handsome Prince

Call me biased but I have always thought Levi is the cutest little boy in the universe. I love to just watch him. The other day I was watching him and wondered how I created such a beautiful little man. He is so photogenic. In every picture he is just adorable, even if he's screaming, he is still cute.

See? Look at those big, sweet, innocent, brown eyes.

Ok. This might be the ONE picture that is not so flattering. I have no idea how this face came to be. We all have our moments I guess.
