Oaks Park

This summer the boys were reading feinds! At least Levi was, I would always find him reading. Max still enjoys listening to stories and now has Levi to ask if he wants something read to him. So like last year we signed up for the summer reading program at the library and as a 'prize' the boys got coupons to go to Oaks Park which we have been waiting to go to all summer.

First stop were the motorcycles which was the ones Max wanted first. Levi, who has had a taste of bigger rides, complied.
Checking out the next ride which Max wasn't so keen on doing.
Levi decided to give it a go though.
So he did the motorcycle ride again, 3 or 4 times.
 Yeah baby!
It was interesting trying to juggle the two boys on my own with me not going on any rides because I just couldn't stomach it and each with very different interests as far as rides went. Levi wanted the bigger rides (and not really and of the 'kiddie' rides) while Max was the opposite.

So while Max went round and round on his motorcycle next door Levi did the octopus ride which I don't think he liked much.
See? To be fair, it went around pretty fast and lots of ups and downs at the beginning. The end he didn't look quite so bad.
Max on his ride.....getting mad when he realized I was taking pictures.
 Levi on his roller coaster.
And his hot air balloon ride.....
 Max's car, red of course!
 Levi tug boating it up.
Max on his flame boat. I was very impressed with him on this one. It didn't just go in circles but also went up and down. He is getting braver and braver.
A new thing they added this year was 'panning' for either gemstones or fossils. The boys each did both and absolutely loved it. We will definitely be doing it again next time.

Max didn't want to go on any of the regular carousel rides so we hung out in the sleigh and made faces.

Us waiting for Levi who went on the train. Max almost went with his big bro but chickened out the last second. Next time bud.
And on the way out posing. I love the progression of these pics (ok, I kind of don't like it but it's our real life). First Levi enjoying his picture being taken.
Max mad as can be because he naturally wants whatever Levi has (Levi's 'oh brother, not again' face)
Max happy because at least eventually he got what he wanted. Hmmmm.
All and all a good day with me and the boys, by the time we got out we were all ready for a nice long nap.
